Get unready with King to the Kong

After a month of using Mizon’s King to the Kong berry cleansing oil I decided to share my thoughts with you. I am very happy to say that I will never get back to using any micellar water or any other make-up remover. Before, removing any waterproof make-up such as mascara or eyeliner was taking forever. I was massaging my eyes to the point that cotton pad was clean, then with water but still I happened to wake up with some mascara leftovers under my eyes…

The last micellar water I used was Garnier’s with argan oil, which was not too bad, but King to the Kong and probably a lot of other cleansing oils are a thousand steps ahead of it. So let’s get started.

Before I bought this I was put off by its price, even though I got it on sale for around $22 from RoseRoseShop. The standard price for the 410ml bottle is $38. However, this product was marked as free shipping and looked very promising by the list of its ingredients, so I bought it. I think it is worth $38 considering how efficient the product is, but why paying the full price when you can grab it on sale!

King’s NO.1 Cleansing Oil

  • Very rich ingredients list based on various types of berries, oils of olive, jojoba, lavender and sunflower (for full list of ingredients, I advise you to check Peach and Lilly store!)
  • Ingredients are antioxidants and full of vitamins
  • Paraben, fragrance and alcohol free
  • Ideal for dry to combination skin types
So far so good! It seems like this product is perfect for me as my skin does not tolerate alcohol, my cheeks like to get dry and my t-zone, nose and forehead are very oily. I usually use a pump or 2, sometimes more (depending on how much make-up I am wearing on the day) and massage my face to remove make-up. I close my eyes and massage (not rub!) my eyelids to remove any products from eye area. After I look like a panda, I take a cotton pad and wipe the dirt off, and then I am rinsing my face with water.

Mizon, well done! This cleansing oil is not greasy! It removes make-up and washes off like a dream, in contrast to greasy avocado oil which I used before! Even if you don’t wash your face with water straight after removing your make-up with this baby, it keeps your face nice and moist. After I wash my face with water, I follow up with cleansing foam, exfoliator, toner, essence, serum, and eye and face cream.

I also use a pump in the morning to wash off any overnight dirt and to control the sebum production. As you can see the bottle on the picture below, product is very efficient.

I have been using this for a month every morning and evening without exception and there is still plenty of oil in the bottle. The bottle itself does not leak so it won’t leave a mess on your lovely bathroom shelf!

To conclude, I love it. The product is definitely worth its price and it does everything that producer promises. The only thing that I would suggest is to check the ingredients list properly, just in case you are allergic to anything, in order to avoid disappointment. I am very fussy with products, but this met my expectations under every single aspect, therefore if you have an opportunity to try it, go for it.

Thank you very much for reading; I hope this review found you well. Let me know if you have any questions! :)

MUFE Aqua Brow vs NYX Brow Gel

Welcome everybody to my blog! I decided that I will be doing proper reviews as on Instagram I feel slightly limited and I would like to share with you all my thoughts on different products that I used! Today I will write a little bit about brow products that I used.

As I have mentioned on my Instagram, I have no brows – the joys of being born blonde with invisible brows. People gave me bad experience with henna (my brows ended up being asymmetrical) therefore I prefer to use make-up to get the brows I want.

Today I will compare two products: Make-Up Forever aqua brow in shade brown black and NYX eyebrow gel in shade espresso:

On the picture, you can see that mine Aqua Brow is coming to an end. I have been using this for almost a year and it was a good value for money, thanks to Sephora for discount! Just to make the long story short, I will write a quick summary of each product:

MUFE AQUA BROW:

  • 7ml of product
  • 7 different shades
  • Smooth formula
  • Easy to apply
  • Long lasting and waterproof
  • Great value for money 17 in Debenhams)
I have managed to take too much product out very often. If you want it to last even longer, use a little bit and add more if needed. Don't be put off by its price - if it lasts a year think about it as a long run investment: it will cost you roughly £1.41 per month.

NYX EYEBROW GEL:
  • 10ml of product
  • 5 different shades
  • Thick, greasy formula
  • Difficult to apply
  • Long lasting and waterproof
  • Bargain 5.50 in Boots/Selfridges)
I decided to look for a similar product and came across that NYX Brow Gel. The formula is very thick - I wouldn't even call it a gel as I struggled to apply it on my hand, not mentioning the brush. I have tried to warm the product up in my hands to see if it will be easier to get the product out. It worked, but the formula was still no match to Aqua Brow. I gave it another go with a drop of Inglot’s Duraline, which has finally solved the issue! Let’s be serious though, who has time in the morning to make the product work? I probably won't finish the product, but as I hate wasting makeup I will try to use as much of it as I can.

On the picture below I have used the same amount of aqua brow (top), eyebrow gel (middle) and eyebrow gel with duraline (bottom):

I am currently testing Benefit brow products. I have received Gimme Brow for free whilst shopping and I bought the new Elle (just for the item of course!) so I will share my thoughts on these at some point.

Did you use any of these products? What are your thoughts? I hope you will find this useful and please comment below if you have any questions!
